Landslide
As I grow older, I start to realize
What some family connections have meant to me over the many
years
But it seems you
never realize this until they are gone
Those people that
were your rock
Allowing you to be the rock for everyone else are no longer
there
Without them you
start to crumble
In doing so those people who count on you also start to
crumble
Until it is a huge landslide that is out of control
You search for other people to support you, so you may
support others
But you search in vain
At this point the depression and self doubt that has always
been a seed just below the surface
Takes hold It begins to grow like a twisted vine choking you
off to wither and die
